Our Dogs

We said goodbye to Thunder on Jan. 21st, 2010.  He would have been 16

years old on June 8th. Twin Lakes Midnight Thunder was a great duck dog and

made some amazing retrieves.  He was still hunting at age 13.  He was a good

boy and we will sure miss him.  We believe he's chasing ducks with Sunni now,

and those ol' ducks better watch out with that pair in action.

Reba will be 9 on the 13th of February, 2010.  She was also an exceptional

duck hunting retriever, but her career was cut short.  She has elbow dysplasia

and is now also totally blind.  She has no idea that she has challenges tho, and

lives a happy life as the queen of the ranch. (1200 sq ft ranch home, that is)

HiHope Josephine Inbetween CGC  (Josie got her Canine Good Citizen at 5 mos)

Josie will be 5 on May 19th or 20th, depending on which time zone you're in.

Josie is a great nanny dog to puppies I bring home, but her duck hunting career

never got off to a start.  Josie was diagnosed with OCD in the hocks when  she

was 6 months old.  She had major surgery on both real legs, and we hope that

we can keep her pain free for many years to come.

Darby... Foxfire Brown Darby, is the new baby.  She is adorable and smart.

I showed her in the Labrador Nationals this year...we came in last in both her classes,

but that was ok. We had a great time anyway.  I had never shown a dog

but now I can see how it could be addicting.  Our duck season was lousy this year,

but we have hopes to get her wittle wips around lots of feathers next season.

Buddy...who is one lucky dog that my husband took in at the farm.  He lives here now tho since the farm was basically destroyed in the flood of 2008.
