My heart goes out to all of you who are working in rescue and other non-profit dog charities. I already donate many prints and some originals each year to try to help. I am also donating all of the profit from the Salute to Sirius prints and gift items to the charities listed on the Sirius 9/11 page. Please understand that if I could afford to give to all of you, I would. The items on my Cafepress stores are not free to me... I have to buy them before I can donate them. I can offer bulk discounts on Cafepress items, but only in quantities of 15 or more of the same item, same design. Different sizes are available for bulk orders. I would need to place the order myself for you, in order to offer the bulk discount. You can email me at debbie@stonebrakerart.com to discuss this. I can also use my artwork along with your organization's logo to do custom orders, like t-shirts for all your volunteers. I do offer many of my prints of labradors to charities, asking that you only pay for the cost of shipping the prints. Email me for more info. I have been doing my artwork basically full-time since 1986. After all the beans are counted, I'm making less than $5 per hour for a 40 hour week. If my husband didn't pay the bills, I would have to get a "real job".
I'm not trying to whine here, I LOVE what I do, and I thank God for giving me the ability to do what I do. However, I thought it was time that I explain why I can't give things away like I would want to if I could afford it. Please know that I respect each and every one of you who volunteer and do everything you can to change and improve the lives of unfortunate dogs (and cats). I'm with you in spirit, even if I can't be there for you financially.
All my best, deb |
